2024 Competitions

In 2023 my work was featured in one competition, so in 2024 I'm going to apply to a few more in the hopes of getting more people to see my work (and maybe selling a few pieces).

Finding the right competitions is important as there is no point applying to a competition that is looking for a totally different style or medium (and paying for it). Sometimes this is easy to understand as the requirements of the competition are clearly outlined and align with my work but other times they are more open. In these instances I will have a look at the previous entrants.

So far this year I've applied to:

  • David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Wildlife Artist of the Year, four entries:

  • Sketch for Survival

  • Royal Academy - Summer Exhibition

Unfortunately, I wasn't successful for the Summer Exhibition but I have now submitted one of the pieces, Coral Collapse, to another competition, the Hampstead Art Society's Open Call.

  • Society of Women Artists (unsuccessful and probably will not apply in future as no communication beyond the initial receipt).

Thanks,

Rachel
